RTÉ was in the frame with documentary

Congratulations to RTÉ One and director Ciarán Deeney of El Zorrero Films for screening on December 28, the one-hour long documentary Man on Bridge, recalling the life and times of Dublin street photographer Arthur Fields.

Apart from his phenomenal professional output between the 1930s and 1980s, the programme opened a window on a unique, driven and contradictory personality.

On far-off visits to Dublin with my father, I can still in my mind’s eye see this hatted, kitted man - a landmark forever in motion.
