All voices must be heard

Minister Aodháin Riordáin says he wants equality and the people’s will to be done.

All voices must be heard

He wants equality by dismantling the institution of marriage. But his government goes mute when it comes to the people’s will and Irish Water? Marriage has already been undermined by the tinkering of the state with various kinds of unions and partnerships. And now it wants to remove marriage’s core requirement that it involve a man and a woman? Given this enormous step, the government, in the person of this minister dedicated to fairness, is seeking to ensure only one message, one choice, one voice is being transmitted. The Minister also heavily criticised a Broadcasting Authority of Ireland (BAI)’s ruling, something which would encourage equality and fairness. This decisionwas critiqued by a minister who wished to screen civil servants for their level of Catholicism, breaching numerous European civil rights rulings?
