Rotten and offensive comedy on TV3

I switched to TV3 recently where I saw a short episode from Tommy Tiernan and I was absolutely horrified.

He began by saying he was once an altar boy and degraded priests in general in an offensive manner. I was saddened to see such a young audience exposed to such vulgarity and profanity in the name of comedy.

Comedy is a wonderful source of entertainment. However, when it is reduced to degrading and disrespecting religious beliefs and values there is something intrinsically rotten in its delivery in my opinion.
