Click ‘n’ tell: Google knows all about us

Time was when you might be able to come to some sort of a judgement about a man if he knew what a jigger button was, for but now it seems his Google history is the tell-all Rosetta Stone to his life, loves, and interests.

Click ‘n’ tell: Google knows all about us

Google have just released their annual search rankings, and they show that we are a celebrity-focussed audience, primarily interested in people and sport.

Garth Brooks, despite not appearing anywhere else in Ireland, topped the music list and the Cliffs of Moher was our most searched-for location.

And even if she hardly fits the bill as one of Dev’s comely maidens, a visit by Kim Kardashian gave her the honour of being Ireland’s top-trending person.

Though maybe not as reliable as GDP statistics as a way to assess our place in the world wellbeing, these searches show we are more or less the same as any other country in the western world.

The depth of the information, its range, and fickleness, does though, point out why sites such as Google are so very lucrative.
