Sinn Féin will be ruined if they form a coalition

I read that Sinn Féin will go into government with Fianna Fáil if both win enough Dáil seats after the next election.

Sinn Féin will be ruined if they form a coalition

If they do, they will lose in the long-term for short-term gains. Other parties have gone into coalition with Fianna Fail and have been destroyed: the Progressive Democrats, the Greens. Labour went into coalition with Fine Gael and will be destroyed after the next election.

If Sinn Féin are a party of the ‘left’ and want to implement their manifestos, and abolish water and property taxes, it won’t happen with Fianna Fáil. They want to maintain those unjust taxes and the austerity status quo, just like Fine Gael.

So I would warn Sinn Féin to think long and hard before they grasp any carrot offered to them by Fianna Fáil.

The aim of a true left-wing party is not only to change the government, but to change the system for the people.

Gerry Adams and Mary Lou McDonald must go into government with like-minded parties and with people of the ‘left’ whose aim is to establish a socialist republic, so we can reclaim our natural resources for the betterment of all our citizens and have better schools, hospitals, etc.

The left-wing parties and independents did not wreck the nation. The bigger parties did that. It’s because of them that we are all in the ‘poor house’. I would plead with Sinn Féin to stay the course and refuse to be diverted.
