Joan delayed for hours, the sick delayed for years

Taoiseach Enda Kenny has expressed concern that Tanaiste Joan Burton was “delayed” and locked in her car for two hours. Yes, Joan was denied her basic right to move freely and not be delayed.

Enda should give consideration to the many people who have had medical procedures delayed by days, weeks, months and even years.

Also, the many elderly people delayed by waiting for places in care homes. Enda should also consider the many elderly people ‘locked’ in their homes by the terror of being robbed or assaulted. Enda Kenny needs to remember that he represents all the people of Ireland, and not just the few, the elite.

The people of Ireland recently showed they are “not happy” — Enda, as leader of the country, you need to address the problems faced by the law-abiding people before the unhappiness turns to anger.
