Politicians need to start fighting for Cork Airport

It is with great disappointment that I have learnt of yet more cancellations to European destinations from Cork Airport.

Discontinuing the Nice and Lisbon routes next summer ensures that Cork Airport turns more and more into a non-viable business operation. We are constantly hearing that our local politicians are working hard to address this debacle but this is difficult to believe considering the constant withdrawal of important routes.

It is hard to understand the necessity for a terminal in Cork if we are unable to either bring visitors in or travel to most popular European destinations. It is high time our local politicians started earning their crust and making a real difference for ‘the real capital’.
