It is a pity that the politicians and media seem to have virtually ignored recent developments in the North. 

UK government should probe role in Troubles

Last week, the European Commissioner for Human Rights, Nils Muiznieks, stated that the UK government is in breach of the Convention for Human Rights by not conducting proper investigations into state (and state-related) killings, and that “budgetary cuts should not be used as an excuse”.

Relatives of the Bloody Sunday victims are taking legal action over this matter.
