Lessons to learn before 1916 commemorations

On watching the Remembrance Sunday commemoration in London, one was struck by the decorum and polished performance of the ceremony.

I then tried to cast my mind forward to the possible scenario of our own 2016 commemoration. We will likely have a member of the British royal family in attendance and there could well be a large shopping centre on the site of the 1916 battlefield site.

Maybe for the icing on the cake, a Luas could drive past during the minute’s silence and we could have a rousing rendition of ‘Billy McGinty’s Goat?
