UCC bookshop was key to my doctorate

Claire Fitzgerald’s poignant letter about the sad closure of UCC’S bookstore evoked so many memories for me, and I’m sure for thousands of former students.

As someone who embarked on the academic experience at, shall we just say, a more mature stage of life’s journey, the staff in John Smith’s supported, advised and even cajoled a nervous student to stick with it.

As a recent PhD graduate, I just want to express my profound gratitude for their support. They were an essential component of my success. Thank you, one and all.
