Post code plan must be reconsidered

In an ideal world emergency services would always reach the scene of an accident in time to make a meaningful intervention and prevent any loss of life.

But, as those working in fire or ambulance services will freely admit, we do not live in an ideal world and occasionally unavoidable delays lead to tragic outcomes.

The tens of thousands of families who benefited from early emergency service intervention are however testimony to the fact that such delays are very unusual.
