If only people would do rather than just say. I refer to Fergus Finley’s letter (Irish Examiner, September 30 ) in which he reminds us that “One in ten children in Ireland” are living in low income households and “without access to basic necessities”.

Finlay should resign party over water charges

On the day after the publication of Mr Finlay’s letter, the party, of which he is a member, oversaw the introduction of charges for a vital “basic necessity”, water, which will see the households in which those same deprived children live have access to water greatly curtailed for want of ability-to-pay those same charges.
