Crime becoming rampant in our soft-touch society

I fully support the recent Irish Examiner/ICMSA poll whereby 46% of the farmers polled supported the death penalty for crimes against children

Crime becoming rampant in our soft-touch society

As regards crime in this country, it is getting out of hand as evidenced from almost daily reports of savage attacks on citizens, in particular women, and elderly people living alone in isolated areas. Our police force is on its last legs.

For far too long there has been an obsession with ‘political correctness’ as regards criminal acts perpetrated by scoundrels (maintained by our social welfare largesse), with all sorts of nonsense being fulminated by the liberal left trendies as to why these individual commit crimes against people.

I would support a motion whereby people over the age of 60 and who are home owners should be legally allowed to maintain a weapon for their defence within their homes.

Perpetrators of serious assaults on individuals are being pampered in our prison system. Instead prisons should be institutions of hellish draconian incarceration so criminals pay dearly for the crime they have visited upon innocent people.
