Hamas also bound by democratic duties

In her letter published on September 9, Dr Orla Lynch rightly refers to the responsibilities of democratically-elected governments, but seems to apply this solely to Israel.

Has she forgotten that Hamas became the democratically-elected government of Gaza in 2006, a year after Israel withdrew from the territory? And is she aware that the atrocities inflicted on Israel are not “independent horrendous acts”, but a government policy stated in The Hamas Charter?
