Stolen celebrity selfies: Nasty revenge

The worldwide web has had a transformative effect on the lives of countless millions, though not all those effects have been positive or benign.

The inventers of the web never thought it would spawn the nasty phenomenon of cyberbullying or the spread of “revenge porn”.

Then there are the hacking scandals, involving not just sport stars, celebrities, and members of the royal family, but also the family of murdered schoolgirl Milly Dowler. There can be no justification for such blatant invasions of privacy, all in the interest of tabloid sensationalism.
