Richard Dawkins follows Darwinian doctrine

Many people were rightly repulsed by Richard Dawkins primitive/less-than-enlightened views on the treatment of Down Syndrome infants. Having said that, in many ways Dawkins views are merely reflective of what emerges from a doctrinaire adherence to Darwinian theories. Not evolution, per se, but this particular deviant variant. Darwins adherents have always had a less than benign view of what their perverse ideology regards as lesser forms of life.

Richard Dawkins follows Darwinian doctrine

For example, in the early 20th century Darwinian zealots were steadfastly supportive of the displaying in a cage in a New York Zoo of the African pygmy, Ota Benga. It was only through the intervention of New York Clergy that Ota Benga was released from his cruel confinement and treated with some humanity.

Darwins theories have of course also been enthusiastically embraced by the Nazis and other Godless adherents of eugenics.

Of course many atheists are perfectly reasonable/humane people, and it would be unfair to assert that the vile views of Dawkins represent atheism in general. For example, there is a group called Atheists For Life, which actively campaigns against abortion. However, groups like Atheist Ireland would do their cause no harm at all by distancing themselves as much as possible from Dawkins and some of the other cranks in their ranks.
