WW1 pomp absurd while the killing goes on in Gaza

We should forget World War I and seek peace.

WW1 pomp absurd while the killing goes on in Gaza

Unnecessary hysteria commemorated that war’s centenary. It was amusing to witness kings and queens, princes, and presidents in their finery looking like peacocks, bowing and genuflecting to each other. That seems ridiculous in the 21st century. As an 80-year-old male, I remember my late father commenting on “man’s inhumanity to man”, and he told me that when a command was given to advance, any soldier who ignored this order was shot on the spot, and their relatives notified that they died in action. It is reported that the US Congress will give Israel a $240m consignment of weapons, to help in their defence. France, USA, and the UK have supplied the weaponry that Israel is using to murder Palestinian civilians, for whose deaths crocodile tears are shed. Yet there is no talk of sanctions. What hypocrisy.
