Scots can ‘go it alone’

It is time the Scots broke loose from the London bean-counters.

Scots can ‘go it alone’

The Scots have ability galore: their doctors, engineers, shipbuilders and financial wizards helped build the British Empire. They can apply that talent to running their own country.

England has an identity problem because of its meddling in other people’s affairs and could do with re-establishing itself. England has awesome ability, as it demonstrated during the industrial revolution, but it has frittered away its inventiveness in preference for bean-counting in London.

London looks down on ‘trade’ and sees manufacturing as dirty and beneath it.

London needs to be put in its place. An independent, focused England could attend to that.

The game of rugby has led the way: the Scots and Welsh teams play their own anthems.
