Circling the wagons

It was with bitter irony I listened to Minister Brendan Howlin last week speak of our brave new world legislation on whistleblowers — ’gone are the days of circling the wagons’.

Yet, the State is nitpicking its way through cases of child abuse in day schools, in the wake of the landmark Louise O’Keefe ruling in the European Court of Human Rights. It would appear they are trying to eliminate any they consider not to be identical to hes, but are not providing any reason to the abuse victim.

To me, this smacks of circling wagons.
