Reproductive rights

The response of JDP McAllion to Alison O’Connor’s opinion piece (Letters, June 19) equates the lives of young women and living babies with the life of a undeveloped and unconscious foetus.

The real issue is whether the reproductive rights of any individual should be dictated by an institution, religious or governmental. As such, the Pro Life campaign is a hangover from the bad old days.
