Gaping injustice to Catholic clergy

Well done to Victoria White on her well researched article entitled ‘Tarring all Catholic religious with sex abuse scandal a horrible injustice’. (Opinion, May 15.)

Horrible injustice is the salient theme in this fine piece of writing.... the innocent victims being the vast majority of hard working Catholic men and women who down through the ages have worked tirelessly and selflessly to improve the lives of a poverty stricken Ireland of not too long ago.

It speaks volumes about the crazy level of political correctness that has insidiously permeated the moral fabric of this country that it took a non-Catholic like Victoria White to highlight this gaping injustice in our society, that is the tarring of all Catholic religious with the sex abuse brush. With regards to the Catholic Church today, Ms White states ‘that the hard truth is that no other institution has dealt more comprehensively with child abuse in its ranks than the Catholic Church”.
