No laughing matter

Terry Prone’s article on ‘challenging sexism with humour’ is apt (Irish Examiner, May 12).

She quotes Kathleen Lynch as an example of a female politician who uses humour.

The more effective way of challenging sexism — 90% of Dáil deputies are male — is to use the ballot paper.

The coming European, local and general elections are opportunities to do that.
