We care about vulnerable in society
Yet again this week we see people with disabilities and their carers neglected by our government. Such as the wonderful Margaret Stratford and her son John to whom she, like our members; is a full-time carer, with little or no respite. Any support that was in place; has been cut or taken away by the present government.
Where is our support? What will it take for the government to acknowledge carers and reinstate our respite? Some poor carer who makes headline news for losing all reason and doing the unthinkable?
Irish carers have been providing this country with free services for years. Put us in charge of our own resources within our own communities. We’ll show you transparency. It won’t be squandered on ridiculous salaries for overpaid directors that’s for sure. We actually care about the vulnerable in our society.
Carers of Ireland — remember this at election time; Carers have a vote too! We won’t tolerate any more cuts.
