Climate change alarm

I would like to reply to Mr Gerard Fitzpatrick, re “The end of the world as we know it” (Letters, April 24). I think he is disappointed with the public and political reaction to the IPCC report on climate change. He could well be right in thinking the people are in denial, some may not even care.

Climate change alarm

Yes, the warnings about the future of our planet are alarming. But the fact of the matter is that neither governments or anyone else can stop climate change. The climate on this Earth has been changing from warm to very cold for many millions of years,

Scientists recently found remnants of sea life and shells high up in cliffs in the south of England; sea levels must have been many meters higher way back in time. So while climate change is alarming, it is not new. This planet is heading for another ice age.
