Climate change: The end of the world as we know it

We are not sufficiently alarmed by the recent IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) reports on climate change. Perhaps we are hopeless and feel there is nothing to be done.

Perhaps we are in denial, or we expect a solution via technological magic. Perhaps we don’t care.

How else can we explain the muted response, particularly in political circles, to the alarming warnings about the future of the planet? These are not the first warnings; but they are the gravest and issued by a group not noted for hyperbole or hysteria i.e. scientists.
