Don’t blame the workers

It is indeed ironic to listen to Transport Minster Leo Varadkar’s endless attempts to demean transport workers, in both the rail and bus section.

Considering that €800m was spent on the Luas, the road networks updated, and the “road tolls” handed over to private operators. Mr Varadkar is now expecting the workers to pay the bills for this careless business model, which was used to gain votes.

The present road structures are indeed the way forward, but it’s also important when planning for the future, that public transport is managed better than the disastrous “Andrews and Beeching” models. Blaming workers for short-term planning Is an easy option.
