Free food depriving restaurants of custom

With reference to ‘feed the city’ on Saturday, March 15, have not the city centre traders suffered enough, with flooding, extortionate rates, parking costs and now, on a bank holiday weekend, free food to be given to their customers?

One must spare a thought for the restaurants, bars and food outlets trying to get back on their feet. There is a time and a place for these events, and this is neither. Free car-parking, maybe, to get custom and life back into the city centre.

Don’t strip food outlets of their best asset: their loyal customers. This is madness personified.
