Where was the snow?

In previous letters I have been pointing out how wildly inaccurate the predictions of weather “guru” Ken Ring have turned out to be. Now that we’re in early spring, let us consider how his forecasts over the last few months have stood up.

Where was the snow?

According to Lynne Kelleher’s (gushing) article in your issue of 20 November, Ring warned us of sub-zero temperatures for Christmas, a glacial new year, and heavy snowfalls for the third week of February, especially in Kerry. None of this happened.

But surely what has finally eroded Mr Ring’s crumbling credibility was his failure to foresee the relentless sequence of ferocious gales and floods assailing us since before Christmas. Not a single, solitary mention. When you receive his next “prophecies”, may I suggest you dump them in the astrology bin.
