UCC as subservient to EU as Enda Kenny

Following in the subservient footsteps of Enda Kenny and Michael Noonan, the academics at UCC have decided, inexplicably, to bend the knee and touch the cap to Jose Manuel Borroso, president of the EU commission, at a lavish ceremony to be held shortly in Cork.

Mr Borroso represents our so-called partners in Europe, who used the jack-boot in 2010 to insist that our hapless politicians foist the private losses and debts of Irish and European banks onto Irish taxpayers and that all bond-holders be paid in full.

As a result of Mr Borroso’s policies, in collusion with our inept government, Irish citizens have suffered appalling austerity for the last five years. Irish society has been decimated.
