Gilmore hams it up

Labour leader Eamon Gilmore’s laborious party address was embarrassing.

Being a politician requires the neck of a giraffe, and Mr Gilmore extended his, with meaningless drivel.

Gilmore, and most of his trusted lieutenants, will be rewarded come the next election for afflicting us with cartoon politics. They will be able to enjoy the fruits of massive pensions, and find cozy jobs in quangos here, or in Brussels.

To quote the great playwright William Shakespeare: “All the world’s a stage, And all the men and women merely players: They have their exits and their entrances; And one man in his time plays many parts.”

This party has played its parts to perfection, and the lies and false promises to get elected will be remembered as the finest play-acting since Hamlet.
