I am a native of Cork who walked to the Model School, Anglesea Street, for eight years. There would sometimes be a small flood in White Street and a little on Georges Quay.

That day is gone.

A suggestion was made on RTÉ this morning to raise the ground floor. This would mean a loss of four feet. A ramp from the street (concrete) up to the new floor level would be the main access. All services would have to be raised: ESB, phone, sewage pipes, water supply, etc.
