We have a power line

Eirgrid has a 220kV power line, from Cork to Waterford to Kildare.

By replacing the pylons and the lines, this could be upgraded to a 440kV line. Power-delivery capacity would be doubled. The new pylons would be slightly bigger, the cables slightly heavier. Most people wouldn’t notice the difference. The visual pollution effect would be relatively unchanged.
