Our hard-earned cash left on drawing board

It beggars belief that €225m of hard-pressed Irish taxpayers’ money has been spent on transport infrastructure project proposals that never got off the drawing board.

Yet not a word from Enda Kenny et al on this disgraceful waste of hard-earned funds in these times of economic austerity.

To add insult to injury, no public benefit will derive from this gross expenditure outlay, and there neither is/nor will there be any accountability as to why such studies were undertaken, when it was known they would never be realised.

The only other country where I have witnessed such massive abuse of public funds, for half-baked infrastructure projects, is Belarussia.
