Pay cut reminders nauseating

Recently, the Tánaiste was interviewed on The Week In Politics.

He gave a suave, assured performance. When questioned about overpaying Government advisors he counteracted by saying that the advisors and the Government et al had taken pay cuts to show their commitment to getting Ireland back on track. Is he joking? What planet are these people living on?

In terms of population Ireland is 26th of 52 of European countries. Our politicians’ wages put them in the top five of the European political wages table with an average wage of €103,000 per annum before expenses are added. Many of the so-called advisors pocket more than that.!
