Unfair pensions

Since Minister for Social Protection and Welfare Joan Burton’s government came into power, pensioners have to pay a pension levy and universal social charge on their private pensions.

Now the Minister has announced a further tax from 10% to 20% on all private pensions above €12,000 per annum.

Most people with private defined pensions had to contribute for 30 to 40 years to earn their defined pension.
