A new schools era

Watching the School Choir of the Year Competition, on RTÉ on recent Sunday evenings, has been a joy. The choirs have been of a very high standard.

The short introductory films of school life, by the students, brought tears to my eyes. This school life was alien to what I experienced in the ’60s.

I do not recall one happy day of my long school life. So, may I say to today’s generation of students: please enjoy your school life and be happy.
