Congratulations on Johnny Duhan story

Congratulations to the Irish Examiner and journalist Michael Clifford (Oct 28) in highlighting the injustice meted out to Johnny Duhan over a 12-year period and the courage of the singer/songwriter in fighting the Irish legal system.

Congratulations on Johnny Duhan story

In one of his wonderful songs he refers to himself as ‘Don Quixote’ the fictional foolish knight tilting at Windmills and during his bleak 12-year odyssey, Johnny, surely at times must have questioned the wisdom of his seemingly impossible venture.

I’m reminded of another of his much recorded songs, the inspirational ‘Don’t give up til it’s over’ (which incidentally is the theme anthem of the all-conquering Cork ladies football team. Again, well done to Michael Clifford (this is true journalism), the Irish Examiner, and to Johnny Duhan (‘There is a Time’).
