Leave D4 folk alone

Last week saw an unprecedented attack on the good folk of Dublin 4.

First lexicographer Prof Terence Dolan said that D4 has an affected accent, a contrived and pretentious one. How dare he (or ‘how dor he’). Next the Government launched their attack by announcing the introduction of a new seven-digit postal code. D4 will cease to exist. Joseph Conrad wouldn’t mind me borrowing this exclamation — the horror, the horror.
