Michael Noonan said in the Dáil recently that he was inviting the hospitality industry to forward proposals for alternatives to his hiking of Vat on fun by 50%, to 13.5%.

Subsequently, the PAC has revealed that there was €400m in uncollected taxes, fines and welfare overpayments outstanding.

Perhaps if our government acted, as we as a business must, and collected monies due, they would not need to further break the will of the people by increasing tax on the “luxury” of entertainment.
