A winning season

What a year for hurling and a wonderful final to cap it all. Congratulations to Davy and hard luck to Jimmy.

My abiding memories, at either end of the scale, are Jimmy Grey presenting the Bob O’Keeffe Cup to John McCaffrey, and Hoggie’s cheeky goal on semi-final day. My late mother, a Corkonian who gave me my love of the small-ball game, must have been really chuckling that day.
