The Irish Examiner kindly published my letter on the subject of Arthur’s Day last October, under the headline ‘Diageo should pay to clean up our streets on Arthur’s Day’ — but it was after the mayhem. I hope, and I know, people will sit up and take notice of Christy Moore.

I am reminded of the words of another song: “They didn’t listen then — perhaps they’ll listen now.”
