Hypocritical media

Whatever one’s views on the abolition or retention of the Seanad, or on austerity, the media discussion is enlightening.

Politicians who have been in power for years now want to reform the Seanad.

The question has to be asked of them: ‘why did you not abolish the Seanad sooner’?

Broadcasters, on TV and radio, and commentators in the print media, for years promoted the people in high places and their policies, which eventually bankrupted the country.

The question has to be asked of them: ‘are you not now being hypocritical in opposing austerity’?
