Taking responsibility

Why do parents who wish to protect their children from abuse and pornography allow their under 18s access to potential harm via social networking sites?

Taking responsibility

Everyone is aware of possible predators, but even just growing up in the cyber valley of squinting windows and twitching curtains is just too hard for any tween/teen who all struggle with self doubt. At best we produce a generation of busybodies (a la Mrs. Bucket) and at worst allow possible psychological abusers hone their skills for sending the next tranche of victims to the local refuges for abused women and men.

It is time to stop blaming the internet and for the responsible adults to behave responsibly towards their charges.
