Politicians just support the elite

Ignoring elephants in the room and engaging in selective amnesia has become a national disease.

The latest indications include the raised bogs dispute. Small-scale turf-cutters are being targeted by the EU and Irish Government for doing some environmental damage while everyone ignores the greatest environmental vandalism ever committed in Ireland, the destruction of over 90% of all Irish bogland by Bord na Móna.

Instead of scaling back on this environmental disaster, a new mega peat-burning power-station was built in Edenderry, funded by the EU and Irish Government, and consuming over one million tons of peat each year.
