Sceptics are too late

Darren O’Keeffe (Letters, Jul 1) takes the Government to task for the inappropriateness of their “doom-and-gloom tactics”.

Where were all the critics, 10 or more years ago? ‘Doom-and-gloom tactics’ would have been appropriate then, to keep the economy from being destroyed by the recklessness of government and financial institutions.
