Time to consider the nuclear option
The current rush to wind is, at last, being resisted by those living near turbines, mainly on aesthetic grounds.
There is a more compelling reason for objection, namely that wind turbines are inefficient, simply because the wind doesn’t always oblige.
The result is that the actual production of electricity is only about 20% of the generating capacity.
There may be a limited place for wind generation in our future energy mix, but surely the time has come to consider seriously the need for nuclear power also?
