Abortion bill not restrictive

I would like to congratulate Caitriona McClean on her letter (Jun 3). She is correct in stating the abortion bill is not restrictive.

It is much like what they have in Britain, except there is no time limit at all. Whatever the consequences she could have an abortion at any time.

It should be made clear in the bill that abortion should only be allowed when the psychiatrists see it as the only way of avoiding suicide.

According to the majority of psychiatrists, it is never the case that abortion is the only way or the best way to solving suicidal tendencies.

We should leave that decision to them.
