Local property tax is a slush fund for the elite

What happens the money collected by the local property tax? You don’t need to be Constantin Gurdgiev to understand.

Local property tax is a slush fund for the elite

The LPT is like a giant Hoover that extracts money from your pocket and transfers it to politicians, both present and retired, a kind of social welfare for the elite.

It can also be described as quantitative easing, a system by which a large quantity of your money, which you had put aside to feed or educate your children, is sucked up and transferred to ease the onerous financial burden of politicians.

Whoosh! Have you ever asked who pays when Enda Kenny, on his world-class salary, and with his huge entourage, is whisked out to the airport, in a convoy of top-of-the-range Mercs, to hop on a private jet to collect a meaningless gong from an obscure college in the States, or somewhere?

Who pays for the five-star hotels and the Dom Perignon? You do, stupid. Whoooosh!

Have you ever asked what happens when the cabal of retired Taoisigh collects its vast pensions every month. Yes, you guessed right, this time. Whoooosh, transfer pricing comes into play, using the latest Dyson technology, you pay the price, and John, Bertie, Brian and Albert each receive a ‘ginormous’ transfer — because they are worth it.

I could baffle you with more economics, but that will do for now.
