You have hit the nail on the head with your conclusion (May 22) about the inevitability of nuclear power and the need to begin the construction process.

Many countries are doing so, with the result that there’s likely to be a shortage of materials, so the sooner we begin, the better.

I would add that, in addition to opposition to wind farms on aesthetic grounds, there is an equally cogent reason to query their usefulness — they are unreliable because of the vagaries of wind. Nuclear power has been shown to be consistently reliable; it is safe and cost-competitive.
