Removal of unit disaster for epilepsy sufferers

I was delighted to read that Gráinne O’Connor has been facilitated to undergo assessment for epilepsy surgery.

As someone who has successfully undergone such surgery in 1992 in Beaumont after spending time in the now removed two-bed assessment unit in Beaumont Hospital, the loss of the assessment facility in Ireland is a disaster for those with epilepsy, for whom, the next seizure could kill.
